Michelle Beattie

Michelle earned a dual degree in Sociology and Criminology from Northern Illinois University. While attending Chicago-Kent College of Law, Michelle gained hands-on experience participating in many legal matters including collecting child support arrearages with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, prosecuting gang crimes, and handling residential landlord-tenant cases through Chicago-Kent’s Advice Desk Program. After graduating in 2002, Michelle began her legal career as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Cook County where she handled complicated child support enforcement matters as well as multifaceted narcotics cases. Michelle later used her considerable courtroom skills to build a successful solo practice focused on family law including, divorce, paternity matters, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, domestic violence, and guardianship. Michelle has been recognized as an Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers.

Stacy Freeman

After graduating with honors from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater, Stacy became a professional actress and toured the country with a musical theater troupe.  Stacy later returned to Chicago to attend law school with a Family Law Fellowship at DePaul University, where she received her Juris Doctor in 2004. She has since practiced in and around Chicagoland exclusively in the area of family law and has handled a large number of contested and uncontested matters including complex, high net-worth divorces involving the classification and valuation of marital and non-marital assets, custody and visitation disputes, orders of protection and restraining orders, and paternity matters. Stacy received a certificate in Divorce Mediation from Northwestern University and has been recognized as an Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers and named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine. She currently serves on the DePaul University Family Law Advisory Board, is frequently asked to share her expertise with professional groups, and continues to pursue her love of performing through her participation in the Chicago Bar Association’s annual Bar Show.

Nicole Onorato

Nicole grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a dual degree in Psychology and Gender Studies. Prior to attending law school, Nicole worked in the non-profit sector as the director of a group home for abused and neglected adolescents. Nicole graduated from DePaul University College of Law in 2004 with a Certificate in Family Law and has since concentrated her practice exclusively on family law matters, including: negotiating and litigating complex divorce and custody matters; drafting prenuptial and postnuptial agreements; and appellate work involving complicated child and spousal support issues, civil unions, child custody and removal (relocation) and distribution of marital assets. Nicole is a frequent author and lecturer on family law subjects and has received recognition as a Leading Lawyer and a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine. Nicole is a volunteer attorney with the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic and received the DePaul University College of Law 2019 Pro Bono Alumni Award for her volunteer work.
